The Kula circle is a gathering for disciples of the Sarayu parampara. Themes related to deepening our understanding and practice of discipleship are offered by Acharya Shunya and explored together through guided discussion. These circles are contemplative, relational, and rooted in the Parampara.

What Discipleship Means
In today’s world, discipleship is often misunderstood. It may be confused with personality worship, emotional dependence, spiritual hierarchy, or unquestioning obedience.
In Sarayu Parampara, discipleship is a sacred relationship of trust, study, humility, inquiry, seva, and inner transformation. It turns one’s life toward the Guru’s guidance while preserving discernment, responsibility, and inner freedom.
The Purpose of the Kula Circle
The Kula Circle is a monthly gathering created exclusively for disciples of Acharya Shunya. Held by disciples for disciples, it offers a space for reflection, integration, remembrance, and connection within the lineage.
It is not a formal teaching class and does not replace satsang, scripture study, or direct instruction from Acharya Shunya. Its purpose is to help disciples reflect on how the teachings are being lived, where confusion may arise, and how the Guru-shishya relationship may be honored with maturity and sincerity.
Who the Circle Is For
The circle is for those who recognize Acharya Shunya as their Guru and wish to deepen their relationship with the living stream of Sarayu Parampara.
Conversations may include discipleship, practice, seva, humility, alignment, and the responsibilities that accompany this path.
The circle is facilitated by disciple Devi Priya
Devi Priya is a devoted disciple of Acharya Shunya whose journey in Sarayu Parampara has been shaped by study, seva, and deep reverence for the Guru-Shishya relationship. She first came to the teachings through Acharya Shunya’s Goddess retreat and has continued to walk the path with sincerity and steadiness.
A clinical psychologist with over twenty-five years of experience, she brings maturity, care, and discernment to the Kula Circle, serving as a disciple-facilitator who helps hold the space for remembrance, reflection, and respectful connection among disciples.
How to join
Kula Circle is a protected disciple space and is not currently open to the general public. Recognized disciples may write to office@sarayuparampara.org to confirm access to the Disciple Member Portal and receive the Zoom link. Those who are not yet recognized as disciples are invited to apply for discipleship first.
Once the relationship is reviewed and confirmed, access to disciple gatherings may be offered through the appropriate portal.
