Shishya Sangam for Disciples
Shishya Sangam is a gathering held once every three months and led by the Sadhvis, offering deeper guidance in vinaya, Parampara history, internal teachings, and the responsibilities of discipleship. It calls disciples into greater maturity, steadiness, and conscious participation in the living lineage.
Deeper Guidance for Life Within the Parampara
Shishya Sangam is a three-monthly gathering led by the Sadhyas for recognized disciples of Sarayu Parampara. It has been created for more focused guidance on the inner culture of discipleship, including vinaya, the history and responsibilities of the lineage, sacred protocol, seva, and teachings intended specifically for those who have formally entered the Parampara.
Growing in Maturity and Steadiness
Discipleship requires more than affection for the Guru or occasional participation in teachings. It asks for steadiness, self-reflection, humility, discernment, and a willingness to understand how one’s conduct affects the larger life of the Parampara. Shishya Sangam helps disciples examine these dimensions with honesty and greater clarity.
Distinct from the Kula Circle
The monthly Kula Circle offers companionship, reflection, and integration among disciples. Shishya Sangam carries a more formal purpose. Led by the Sadhvis, it brings the disciple community together for deeper orientation, internal teachings, and guidance concerning the responsibilities of walking within a living Guru-shishya tradition.

The circle is facilitated by the Sadhvis of the Parampara
Shishya Sangam is hosted by Sadhvi Ishani and Sadhvi Aparna, initiated monks and senior disciples of Acharya Shunya. As Sadhvis of the Sarayu Parampara, they have undertaken a deeper life of study, discipline, seva, and responsibility within the lineage.
They guide these gatherings under Acharya Shunya’s direction, helping disciples understand vinaya, Parampara history, internal teachings, and the responsibilities of discipleship. They do not speak as independent Gurus. They serve as entrusted teachers and holders of the Parampara’s inner culture.
How to join
Shishya Sangam is a protected disciple space and is not currently open to the general public. Recognized disciples may write to office@sarayuparampara.org to confirm access to the Disciple Member Portal and receive the Zoom link. Those who are not yet recognized as disciples are invited to apply for discipleship first.
Once the relationship is reviewed and confirmed, access to disciple gatherings may be offered through the appropriate portal.
